Whenever members post about their experiences with ATOS and the DWP one subject constantly surfaces. Communication. In the main it is communication by email or in writing or should I say the reluctance of ATOS and the DWP to put anything in writing.
I recently read a post where a member was told by JC+ staff that they were no longer allowed to put statements they make in writing or to leave messages on an answerphone. This tie’s in with the attempt by ATOS to dispense with the use of email in the very near future.
It is clear they are learning from us and are adjusting their policies accordingly. It may be now necessary to alter the way in which we deal with the DWP and ATOS, for example by recording all of our conversations with them.
Personally I record every call coming into my home number now, I have a digital recorder which has the facility to download its content onto the hard drive of my computer. I got mine from Maplin www.maplin.co.uk/who were also able to provide advice on its use when recording calls. I never tell the DWP or ATOS I am recording a call and if they ask I don’t answer the question that way they can decide whether they want to continue or not and if they want to terminate the call without evidence I am recording that is their look out. If they ask me in I have it with me and it’s on.
The DWP and ATOS are aware we are on to their method of operation and are acting accordingly, I am simply responding to that change as they have, like for like. In the interest of fairness and clarity especially at a later date, I also transcribe calls when necessary and produce them word for word as evidence if required to do so.
I am taking these precautions to protect my rights to Benefits I have already paid for and am continuing to pay for. I will not be dictated to by these people and I will not watch my rights being eroded for the mistakes of greedy bankers.

Then they will have to write to you.
Why make life easy.

I went for my examination on saturday at 11.35.As soon as i was in the door,the receptionist said she was sorry that the examiner was not available an the place closed at 1 oclock.they said they phoned house at 10 oclock to tell me that it was cancelled,I told them i had already left house by then,she apologized and said she would refund expencies,it would take 2 or 3 weeks to be in my account,It took me 1and a half hours to get to the place,they asked if i wanted a complaint form to fill in.I was scared to accept as i thought it would probably go against me.any ideas?.

Scared of what ? don’t complain they will piss all over you anyway because they look upon non complainers as weak, they double book all the time and it’s a scandal, why should you get messed around because of their incompetence ? they should be embarrassed not you..!!

have only been on benefits since jan 11 have be to 3 medicals as you can guess had esa stopped my only crime has been to get injured at work i can’t believe
i have payed ridiculous amounts of tax and ni to get treated this way once again the working classes are being made to pay for the rich and affluents greed and corruption i for 1 have had enough surely the time has come when we all need to stand together and speak out publicly against a system that blatantly laughs at the poor sick injured people of this country i thought the thatcher years had gone but hey don’t worry cameron has took up the reins to carry on shoving the working classes back down where the rich think we belong

so true thatcher edveloped the sod you jack i’m ok attitude and the working class fell for it now more than ever we need to get back to are roots community spirit look after each other and all stand together for the good of all the government want us to be selfish divide and conquer is working well for them only a change by all of the working class will change that and when they see solidarity then we get treated with respect and dignity

i think the time has come to have a proper peoples union whose soul purpose in being is to stand up for the disabled old sick and injured of this country a union members would pay small subs each week which would be used to educate all members in welfare law benefit law gain people from the legal profession to fight with us at appeal and with a full membership be able to help and sustain each other throughout the oppression we are facing at the moment
