Welcome to the first (as far as I can tell) internet blog dedicated to revealing all of the underhanded tactics and bullying techniques used by the UK Benefits Agancy against those of us who are in the unfortunate position of having to claim a benefit because of ill health.
Don’t get me wrong, I (and I’m sure you) know that there are many unscrupulous people out there who are making bogus and illegal claims. I don’t condone this and like other genuinely disabled people want to see an end to this practice. However, I don’t see why those genuinely disabled claimants should be tarred with the same brush.
What I want to do here is to create a site where people can say what they want without fear of reprisal, identify and draw attention to bad practice, name and shame unprofessional behaviour by ATOS Healthcare Doctors and DWP staff, show how inaccessible some of the buildings these so called “caring professionals” are occupying and expose the reasons why they are in such dubious locations.
I myself have recently fallen under the scrutiny of the DWP and fully expect my benefits to be stopped at any moment. So to set the ball rolling, I’ll post my story soon.

What a bloody appalling country we live in.While the sick are degraded and interrogated ,the politicians rob us and try to remove the bill of human rights!
Revolution anyone? I have just received notification of impending medical examination as I dared to renew my claim for DLA! I have stage 4 cancer,which has spread to my bones. During the past 5 years I have had to deal with doctors who suggested vitamin supplements,when it later turned out to be cancer,and oncologists who marched me around their consultation room saying that my pain was just stress due to the chemo and I should go home and read a book to relax.Two days later my results showed a broken hip! So I have little inclination to subject myself to an examination,to explain myself and perform tricks like standing on one leg or raising my arms in the air,which I remember having to do a couple of years ago. Problem is ,if I dont and money is stopped ,I have a 4 year old to look after,and in my condition I dont need the stress. As I said,time for revolution!!

i agree totally,the dwp stinks of corruption its time for revolt,the government can spend billions on arms to destroy other countrys,and let thousands of imigrants in,yet no justice for the british.what a stink of corruption i would love to see those bent politicions live on poverty line.

And homeless as well, love to see them without a pot to piss in, it’s sickening that they can find £650 million to give to Pakistan, but can’t even scrape anything at all for our people, I hope the people of this country speak in the by-elections tomorrow.
They are the worst Government i’ve ever known, even worse than New Labour who I hate with a passion, a bunch of criminals is what they are, everything about them is corrupt, all their business dealings, their representatives in the DWP and ATOS, the judiciary along with the CPS, the police and also the corrupt media like the Daily mail who print their lies, the whole lot from top to bottom is corrupt.
Clubbing a man to the ground and killing him and the monster resposible is not prosecuted, what kind of justice is that ?.
If the people of this country vote tomorrow to get rid of these scumbags in power, I swear al burst in to tears of joy..!!

I thought Maggie thatcher was a hard person, but this load of NAZI’s conservatives are much worse, I had a doctor who came on new years eve to examine me, for a new claim for DLA, I am almost house bound and living alone, this Dr spent three and a half hours at my home, to cut a long story short, every thing I told him was the truth, I have MRI scans to prove it now, (But they are not interested in the truth) This Dr who came broke all the ATOS rules in the book (But I don’t think they have any rules) he was a very old man, he fell asleep, he even brought his own argos alarm clock with him, he arrived at 17.15 and left at 20.20 and his son kept on ringing him through the examination, this Dr should not be doing such an important job, as it affects peoples lives, I lost the right to claim this benifit due to the incompedence of this man, I have been waiting since October 2010 for the date of the tribunal, I have had a letter now telling me that my Incapacity benefit is to change and the process to evaluate me will now start to begin, (What are disabled people to do) we need to fight back, but how, can anyone think of a way of fighting this injustice, I love this country, but I just want to go to sleep and die, I am completely lost and bewildered with this lot in power, I am not a selfish person and cannot help feeling for those people who are genuine and have been taken of the benefits they were on just so the figures can be brought down (Cameron, SHAME SHAME!!!) I hate this man for what he is doing to the genuine disabled person, the system is corrupt, I have not slept with worry, if they stop my benefit what am I going to do, as, Electricity, Telephone, food, and many other things, don’t these people have any idea what stress they are putting people like me under, I have a serious back problem that has been diagnosed by the specialist, both my nee’s need replacing but I have been told I need to be at least a few years older to have them seen to, I suffer with depression ( Does’t anyone with these sort of problems) any way I hope these uncaring politicians leave office soon, One more thing, can you believe the nerve of the examining Doctor that called on me, he left the alarm clock at my home, and he came back for it about 14 days later, I could not get to the door in time, so it cost me £1.51 to send it back to his employer, ATOS, I hope they asked him questions about why he would want an alarm clock at an examination, I am in the fighting mood now, they are trying to make our lives a misery, by the way, I worked for 34 years as t television engineer. Your story is very common and it’s hard to believe, but I know you are telling the truth, your experience, aside from the home visit and the alarm clock business is the same as mine and thousands of others all over Britain.
It was New Flippen Labour (Those so called champions of the people) who started this nonsense in the first place, with the even nastier Tory party carrying on with their dreadful work.
Anyway you should have let the old fart sleep on… so that the assessment started at 17.15 PM and ended at 8.00 AM the next day, perhaps taking photographs througout the night (saliva dribbling down his chin etc, that kind of stuff) you probably missed an opportunity here Jacko , especially when you sent the alarm clock back intact, I would have smashed it in to a thousand pieces then sent it back, no charge and with my compliments.
We are fighting back Jacko, we are exposing these corrupt pieces of trash, here at http://dwpexaminations.blacktrianglecampaign.org/index.php and we are going to keep exposing their corruption, so please join us, and anybody else who is being screwed over by these miscreants and help end this nonsense.

I have had significant additional care needs since I was diagnosed with epilepsy. For many years it was epilepsy then recovery from brain surgery (1973 to 1997) but ever since 1973 I have had mental health problems and will continue to do so in the way this world is so corrupt and how I have been treated which is why I am awaiting cognitive Behaviour Therapy and have DTD. So, as I only got disability benefits in the last four years (1993 to 1997), that is four years out of thirty nine years and the DWP are trying to make it look as if I don’t need any additional care. Just because I don’t have a criminal record doesn’t mean I don’t get involved with scuffles and fights – I try to avoid these situations but if someone picks on me who is determined to come out on top and is stubborn against the truth it is likely to erupt as I will only take so much negativity associated with the evils of inferiority.
The DWP are quick to use my potential and overall qualities to deny me support for my mental health problems and when I had epilepsy; yet the DWP were quick to use the epilepsy to treat me as subnormal and force me onto The Sheltered Placement Scheme. These are indirect admissions of recognising my needs and capabilities. They didn’t use these factors in the right way where relevant but where they weren’t relevant in order to suppress my progress and deny me my rights. Having epilepsy shouldn’t have been used to undermine my intelligence to put me on The Sheltered Placement Scheme but should have entitled me to disability benefits; being gifted should have helped me get a better job not used to deny me my entitlements to disability benefits.
I have suffered so much negativity I have zero tolerance and when victimised I can feel suicidal and ready to turn violent on those who victimise me. If I cannot let it out one way I think of self harm. I have contacted The Samaritans quite regularly.

Yes Deano you have the right to ask, and they will tell you that they have the right to refuse and send a nurse instead, whether they deny you or not just depends on who it is you ask, some are more receptive that others..!!

Has anybody else had problems from Atos and the DWP regarding data protection requests?
I requested all the data that Atos healthcare hold on me, they have actually complied well within the 40 day timescale but i have not received a copy of the health questionnaire that i sent them prior to my medical examination, biggest mistake of my life i forgot to photo copy it before returning it to atos.
I spoke to the data provider this morning on the telephone from the DWP, who said they will only send me this when the decision maker has made the big yes or no.
The data that was supplied by atos is in code a statement in numbers and digits, they have also given me a leaflet Glossary of terms Atos healthcare screen print out to help interpret the information, but you will need a degree to interpret the paperwork, anybody with a learning difficulty would have difficulties, i feel that i am quite articulate but still having difficulties.
Perhaps it is just the way this company works, just to deny our human rights even more

well i have had my patronising letter stating i wiil no longer recieve esa payments after the 30th april even though waiting for appeal and must still provide sick notes so they can pay my ni bless them also it states i may still have to attend medicals all the rules but no money they have also said i may like to try for income based esa instead of contribution based which is rubbish because wife works more than 24hrs a week so don’t qualify for that so it now means wifes wages alone will not cover both of us they think of everything to drive you into poverty but think of nothing to help this is what you get when the rich and greedy cock up the country but hey don’t worry mr cameron we will pay for it as we always do
