Britain, a future fair for all.
Think before you vote
Hello again folks over the last year or so disability benefits have yet again come under fire. The politicians are leaping about like flies on a dog’s back trying to out do each others policies relating to disability benefit reforms. I don’t know about you, but I have been loyal to one party for my whole adult life and firmly believed in their principles. I am not going to say which party, and expect you will not ask. Let’s take a look at what the main 2 contenders have said.
It appears that the both Labour and Conservative have the disabled population of the UK firmly in their sights. As a disabled person and voter I am uncomfortable with their plans to say the least.
Government figures suggest that there are around 1.6 million people claiming benefits in the UK at present. The present Government and any future Conservative Government want to reduce this figure and both of the main parties have their own methods of doing this. Our present Government are using ATOS Origin, the Conservatives have not said how they will do it but have hinted that one in five benefit claimants will be judged fit for work and transferred to jobseekers allowance, reducing their benefits by around £25.00 per week should they form the next Government. This represents a saving of around 36 mliilon pounds, It pails into insignificance when you consider they spent billions bailing the banks out, pitiful isnt it?
Just the other week I was in to see the smiling assassin, who quite candidly admitted that the official figure for those losing disability benefits after a visit to the cardboard cut out ATOS “Doctor” is currently at 85%. That is a huge number of people and if you include their immediate dependants you begin to see the impact the actions of ATOS and the “decision makers” have on the lives of disabled people in the UK. When you think about it, 85% of disability benefit claimants are being branded as liars, that cant be a realistic statistic, can it?
Every day I receive messages from benefit claimants who have their lives thrown into disarray by ATOS and the “decision makers”, the impact is quite devastating when you consider the associated problems, for example the loss of housing benefits and the immediate arrears the retrospective cessation of benefit payments can cause, the mental stress, the undermining of the authority of your G.P. or specialist who are experts in your care, the stress caused if you then have to lie to claim another benefit like JSA which requires a fitness declaration to be signed. I could go on, but wont, save to say that I think it is now a time for change. Mr Brown’s new (recycled) slogan of a future fair for all clearly does not apply to the disabled voter, therefore, our votes should not apply to him and his like. We should organise ourselves into an association to fight this foul policy and end the insidious attacks on the (soft targets) weak and infirm by voting with our feet.
It is now time to stand up and be counted and I urge you to think carefully at the next Local and General election. Look carefully at the policies relating to disability benefits, question Local Councillors on their position regarding this policy and back that up with a letter to them reminding them of your conversation, continue this action by sending a copy to your local M.P.
Write to your M.P. every time you have an issue with your benefits or the DWP, lobby your M.P. for change, if we all do it they will have to react, especially if they realise that the disabled vote can end their careers and thus take away their cash cow.
I wonder how they would feel if the 1.6 million disabled claimants voted for another political party at the next election? I bet, given the poor turn out at the last couple of elections the disabled vote could tip the balance of power or at least force a hung Parliament. Bears thinking about, doesn’t it?
So dear readers, next time you vote, think carefully where you put your cross. You never know you could be putting a cross through your rights to claim incapacity or disability benefits. A future fair for all. Sounds idyllic doesn’t it? Let me assure you, the statement does not apply to disability benefit claimants and that is fundamentally wrong. Besides being an insult I believe it is an infringement of our human rights and should be challenged.
I’ll be back.
the politicians for the parties are like big bullies who pick on the weakest people in society because they think the spin will get them more votes r soles most of them.

I agree, but unless we unite and demonstrate the power we have over them by using our votes to take away thier jobs they will continue to ignore us. Perhaps oits timethe BBC or Channel 4 did a documentary on the degradation disabled people face under the hammer of the DWP and thier enforcement arm ATOS? That would be good, they can come along to any medical I am asked to attend. As I have said previously. It is my intention to put both organisations under as much pressure as I possibly can in the fight for fairness and justice. With that in mind I am urging all readers to vote with thier feet at the next Local and the upcoming General Election and put their cross next to the party which is putting the rights of the disabled first, remember, both the present Government and the Tories have plans to make life harder for the disabled by attacking thier rights to benefits. We are clearly being sent a message that there will be no quarter given, I say letrs return the compliment and elect someone who cares about us.
Comment by dwpexamination — March 15, 2010 @ 8:17 am
But who would that be? The BNP, the UKIP, the Liberal Democrats? Do any of them care about us?
Comment by Jackie — March 18, 2010 @ 7:50 am
I dont want to give people the impression that I am promoting any of the political parties, I am just suggesting that we do not vote for the present Government or the Tories who have declared war on the disabled. There are alternatives I am sure and I have made my mind up already after talking to the local party reps. Please must think carefully when making your decision, vote for the party who will support the disabled persons rights and Human Rights.

I’ve just received a reply from my MP, the infamous Tory MP Douglas Hogg (he of the expenses claim for cleaning his moat) about an email I sent to him complaining about the current system. This was his reply:
Dear Ms ****
Thank you for your email regarding the Welfare Reform Bill the contents of which I have noted.
As you may be aware, the Bill has now Royal Assent and is now an Act. I realise you are concerned over some of the proposals that the Act will introduce.
We have both a moral and an economic duty to change this situation. Morally, we cannot leave people to languish on benefits with no opportunities and no chance of changing their own lives for the better. Those who can work should work, and Conservatives are committed to giving them the tools and skills to do so.
As such, I welcomed the publication of the Government’s welfare reform plans. Conservatives had previously announced many of the proposals. In particular, we support regular assessments of abilities, with unconditional help for those who genuinely cannot work. There should be tailored support for those who can do some work or training.
We have a duty to make sure that today’s children grow up in a society which values hard work and responsibility. I hope this helps and do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely
The Rt. Hon, Douglas Hogg QC MP
No mention of the fact that the current system is picking on the genuinely ill in a horrific way, that Atos doctors are automatically biased against the patient and are deliberately fudging the facts in these so-called ‘medicals’ and not listening to a word you say, that more than 50% of these medicals are overturned at Tribunal on appeal, that the last thing this system is doing is saving money. I think that says it all, don’t you? DON’T VOTE TORY.
Comment by Jackie — March 18, 2010 @ 10:19 am
I agree, I wont be voting for the present Government or the Tories. This reply is arrogant, vague and does not answer your questions. It is clear that this man has no intention of becoming involved in an arguement, particularly if it becomes public. Lets nibble away at them, become a thorn in thier side and constantly complain about the slightest mistake, error or downright abuse of Human Rights. That should keep them too tied up to fiddle thier expenses and maybe then they will take notice. Better still, vote them out, make them unemployed and take away thier income and see how they fair. I would write back asking him to stop being so vague and answer the questions you have put to him, untill he does. I assure you, he will get sick before you do, and as your M.P. he should respond to every one of your letters. So every disabled person within the district this M.P. “serves” get typing and bog him down. Good luck, spread the good word and lets see what we can do when we put our minds to it eh.

HI Jackie…That’s just the type of reply to expect from a man ( If you could call him a man ) who has never done a hard days work in his life, what does he mean unconditional help for those who genuinely cannot work, there isn’t any help, and never will be,he knows fine well it’s all about figures and statistics,he is nothing but an expense fiddling criminal, and should be in jail, preferably in the same cell as the Ian huntly slasher…what we want to know is,when are the ATOS/DWP liers going to be brought to account, when is the guilty until proven innocent going to end,and even when found innocent, still getting hounded to death by the DWP, when will that end, when are the private doctors with the conflicts of interest going to be removed from the tribunal appeal panels, and when is the complete withdrawal of benefits… designed just to torture and drive you round the twist going to stop.and when is there going to be a proper meeting between the DWP,ATOS,CITIZENS ADVICE,WELFARE RIGHTS OFFICERS,DISBILITY ALLIANCE ET AL,to get it sorted out once and for all going to be held. The truth is Mr Hogg you are well aware of whats going on,you know fine well ATOS/DWP are continually lying through their teeth day in day out,and your loving/relishing every second every minute of it,the bottom line is your a money grabbing sadist, that would sell his own Granny, the mere thought of any kind of physical, mental,or social discomfort terrifies you,the type of character you dont want to be standing next to in a war situation, anyway i think you’ve got the message…YOU POLTROON. Thats from DAVID.

Hi David,
I went to Citizens Advice a couple of weeks ago just to talk to someone and the lady I spoke to said that supporting people through the Appeals process takes up a lot of their time, she asked me if she could use my case as an example (if I fail the medical, which I fully expect to do because I have mental health problems) because they want to lobby the Government to stop this persecutory system. I of course said yes. I have my medical today, 7th April, I’ll let you know how it went. As if I need to.

Oaky doak Jackie…Sorry i missed that, was writing on another page for a while, ok your going to fail the wca, and be found capable of work everybody is, unless your crawling around on the floor, so dont worry ( Easier said than done ) it’s not just you and i, get your GL 24 form and appeal, as soon as you can, the experts are recomending we dont bother with asking for a review from the DECISION MAKER, but ask for a straight appeal to the tribunal, if you do that, it was explained to me, the decision maker reviews it anyway, so you see, there’s no obvious advantage in appealimg to the decision maker first, but of course thats up to you and your advisor to decide.
Personaly i dont have mental health problems, but i know what it feels like to see the dreaded brown envelope lying on the floor, had plenty of them, and just recieved one half an hour ago, but it was a false alarm, just a hospital appointment, so i was worried about nothing, but it is a highly unpleasent feeling, even for a stoic like me, Im getting used to it now, and no longer going to let it bother me.
Have my letter from the DWP coming any day now, and will let anybody thats interested know the result whilst sitting at the computer, fully expect zero points, and psychologicaly geared up, hey if i got 15 points, am sure al collapse with the shock ha ha.
Anyways you mentioned the CAB, as far as i can see, they are one of the few organisations, that are trying to do anything positive.
Let us all know how you got on……..REGARDS FROM DAVID.
Comment by David — April 15, 2010 @ 2:24 pm
Hello ya all…Last week 7th of april, i decided to look at my local MPs website, just to check it out, apparently he’s on the welfare reform comittee, looking to see how it can be inproved etc, well so he claims.
So i decided to send an e-mail straight to his website, asking if he could explain to his constituents why this Government has given a private health firm a contract worth £100 million a year ( According to a spokesman for the DWP ) Another spoksman says £80 million a year ) to abuse patients rights, and deliberately conspire with the DWP to illegaly forge and rework medical assesments, to create an excuse ( not that they need an excuse ) to deprive people with serious illnesses of their lawful rights to basic benefits.
Have i recieved a reply ?, nope… no siree, am i going to recieve a reply ?, you can bet your sweet ass i wont, because he’s in on it, and knows its all a scam, so iv’e challenged him, and if it’s a false allegation, here’s the opportunity to put me in my place.
So on you go mr right honourable gentleman…I dare you, please put me in my place ?.
From David the pittbull.

Ever since I began this blog, I have advocated contacting or pressurising our MP’s into answering the questions we pose. As disabled residents of the UK we have rights, these rights are as you say David being abused on a daily basis by ATOS. ATOS are a third party company from the private sector who are tasked by the DWP (and well paid too) to assess our capability for work. This evil plan, contrived by a labour party defector prior to him running back to his paymasters (the Tories) can not be allowed to continue. We must challenge everything they do, if we do it costs them moiney and reduces the profit they make and further damages thoer reputation. I can not believe some of the stories I recieve almost daily, it is a disgrace and needs to be stopped. So make them (the MP’s) earn thier money, and tell them how you feel, they must reply too.

Yes and he only defected to get a peerage from slimeball Cameron, here’s some more greaseballs that recieved honours at the new year : (1) Emma harrison (A4E) Recieved CBE. (2) Martin dunford (chief executive of skills training UK) recieved an OBE. (3) Janette faherty (Chief executive Advanta enterprises LTD) recieved OBE. (4) Professor Mansel Aylward (former chief scientist at the DWP, and now chairman of the UNUM provident centre) recieved a knighthood.
Moreover a further 16 DWP executives and other staff, received MBEs.
Thats why we need a paradigm shift, these people are making fools of us, and getting away with it.
A complete new way of thinking before it’s too late, but it’s not going to happen because as iv’e said before, 60 to 70 percent of the people of Britain are as thick as two short planks.
Comment by David — April 18, 2010 @ 8:17 am
HI all…Is there possibly one person, just one person down in Brown the clown’s cloud cuckoo land, prepared to confront him ( man o manos ) and demand to know why this Government has given the go ahead to a private health company ( ATOS )the full right to abuse disabled people, ie forging and reworking medical assesments, conspiring with the DWP to lie and cheat on those assesments, and ilegally withhold the right to benefits for months on end, ( Whilst waiting up to nine months or more for an appeal date ) in cynical attempts to force people on to JSA.
Well is there anybody ?.
Comment by David — April 29, 2010 @ 5:56 pm
I doubt it David, you saw the level of his narcisim the other day when the two faced git turned on one of his own supporters. Its quite obvious the man is a tyrant and will exterminate anyone who challenges his word, and believe you me, if you were exterminated by this type of person you would never work again! Would you be prepared to risk your families income? I think not, especially if you knew all around you would turn thier backs on you as soon as you opened your mouth. Oh and if Brown didnt get you, his chief assassin Mandy Mandleson would. Its a life eh?

Well here’s another reason to think before you vote, Yvette Cooper our pal and champion of the disabled and sick, in an interview by the independent newspaper in 1996, she claimed of suffering in the past from chronic fatigue syndrom, and then went on to lamblast others and their unsympathetic attitude to the long term sick.
Wonder what her constituents would think of that ? ( That’s a rhetorical question ) I already know the answer.
Comment by David — May 3, 2010 @ 3:50 pm
Bet she got her sick pay?

Well it looks like it’s all over, Cam and his new side kick are going to save Britain, at least cooper, balls and co, wont be making the decisions anymore, and good riddance too, hey perhaps Blairs expense sheets will be found in some drawer somewhere.
Labour should have been out the game, as in 15 to 20 seats total, only reason the scots and north of england voted for them, was to try and keep the sons of Thatcher out, and no other reason.
So lets just lash ourselves to the mast, and try and weather this dreadful storm that’s coming, because personaly speaking, iv’e lost interest in this country, my main concern is the pensioners, the sick and disabled, and the low paid workers, who make the supreme effort and get nothing in return, the rest can reap what they have sown.
Comment by David — May 13, 2010 @ 10:47 am
Well said that man, all we can do is hang on for the ride and wait to be shafted. When you think about it the Greeks have it right you know, at least they let thier Government know they are unhappy! We just have to wait and see how this pans out, theres talk of tax breaks for the lower paid and the top knobs have just voited themselves a 5% pay cut? whats 5% of 150k? nothing compared to the privations we are going to have to put up with if thier actions are anything to go by. I wait with baited breath.
Comment by dwpexamination — May 13, 2010 @ 11:13 pm
Can anybody help me here, this tax break for the low paid, they say if your earning up to 10 thousand a year, you will not pay tax.
So if your on the minimum wage, £5-80 an hour, and a 40 hour week thats working out at £232 a week times 52 weeks = £12064 so elegible for tax.
Or a 38 hour week at £5-80 an hour working out at £220.4 times 52 weeks = £11460.
Since both are well over the threshold of £10000 who is this meant to benefit ?, only if your working part time then, and since the majority of the disabled and sick plus the unemployed, ( not to mention the 70 to 80 percent already on the minimum wage ) are all going to be forced in to Mc jobs, this looks like a con trick to me.
Hey av been told im a tory hating cynic, and Mr CEE is realy a nice man and wont take the full tax deduction of the great unwashed, jesus…talk about gullible.
Somebody, somewhere, please tell me iv’e got it all wrong ?
